Book Store
At the meeting on Tuesday, it was discused that not every college has submitted books for spring quarter. Although we are still a few weeks away there was a new law passed in Ohio requiring all book orders to be placed 2 weeks prior to open registration. It is thought that once we switch to semesters this will be more heavily enforced.
There will be a bookstore open house on March 6th from 1130 until 1. Several displays from the bookstore will be open to the public, to help better inform everyone on camput the many functions of the bookstore. Read more about February Meeting
This meeting went very well. A lot of things discussed dealt with end of year reviews that really do not pertain to the students. Some information to point out is that ebook sales are on the rise. However, if you have a tablet computer do not buy the card from the bookstore and expect it to be compatible with your device. Instead buy the book through the marketplace (Android, Iphone, Nook, etc.) on your device. They are working to make these books along with NookStudy compatible on all devices. This meeting was a bit shorter than most. The main thing mentioned at the meeting was how the boostore is trying to get more books on their nook study program.
-They expressed the fact that rentals have doubled since the start of this program over a year ago.
-Semesters will not change the average price students pay for the year. The bad thing on semesters is that competition for books will increase since every college or university will be on semesters in Ohio.
