CEHS Report Week 9

Hey Raiders!

This past week has been a whirl! First off, the Invisible Children event was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who helped out and showed up to make this event one of the best we have had.

I have been working on getting a CEHS Open House event for next quarter. This would be a great chance for the different organizations and the staff within the CEHS to get information out to the students. The DSAC is also working on ideas, such as this Open House, that we can put on during the rest of the year. Read more about CEHS Report Week 9

Last week Galen and I completed our review of the acadmiec integrity hearing panel review.  We met with Dr. Sudkamp, former president of the faculty senate to get insight as to why the process was changed.  We then drafted a resolution to present to the senate, trying to gain the support of the entire SG body. Happy Halloween!!

This past week, I met with the assistant dean about setting up a student government table in the nursing lounge as a king of meet and greet. We also spoke about students requesting a college facebook page, and she liked the idea but needs to approve it through the dean.

I have been working on scheduling an appointment with Jane Doorley, the faculty advisor of SMART, to talk about the idea of a mentoring program for the nursing-intent students. She has been sick, so we've had difficulty meeting. Read more about CONH Senator report- Oct 31

Report Week 9

This week still has me at a little bit of a standstill.   I am in process of meeting Lynsey (president of my DSAB) to discuss a few big ideas.  The one primary thing I would like to get finished either now or over intersession is have a meeting of all the boards on campus to discuss and share ideas of what we have done for our university.  For my committee I contacted my high school and spoke with them on Wright State University, and I would like everyone from the board to do this as well.  It will be very beneficial to our university and my high school as well.  Read more about Report Week 9

Hello again Raiders!

This week was a busy week for all those involved with Invisible Children! On Oct 25 in the morning we held the Wright State Jukebox event to help raise money for the organization. Then in the evening we had the screening of Invisible Children (props to both Zack Beck and Luke Wortley for making the screening the huge success that it was).

Jake Todd and I learned the ropes in order to begin serving on the Parking Appeals Committee this week. It was a lot to take in, but it will be an exciting year.  Read more about Commuter Report

CoLA Weekly Report

So, as for the issue concerning the Spanish Department, Charles Long, Forest Wortham, Dr. Pugh and myself were able to secure some new TA and SI positions for the Spanish Department. There will be at least two offered this coming Winter Term. My DSAB and I intend to establish a precedent to be able to have a more proactive recruitment system be employed by the Department of Modern Languages as a whole to be able to offer these important services to all language students of first and second year. We all believe that this will be an integral part of the success of WSU's Spanish program. Read more about CoLA Weekly Report
