Hi there! Well, this is my first year on the cabinet for Student Government (SG) but my third year being a part of the organization. For the past two years I have been representing the College of Engineering and Computer Science as a senator. In addition to this I’ve served on many campus committees and been on the executive board of several other groups. In 2007 I was honored to receive the Student Activities Distinguished Senior Leader award. As you see, I have lots of organizational experience and I plan to help promote the continued growth and success of SG by bringing all of these experiences and connections to the organization.
I will be maintaining a pragmatist interpretation of the SG Constitution. That means that what isn’t specifically outlined in the Constitution is open for inference based upon what judicial precedents there have been before, consequences of different interpretations, and will hopefully support stability and promote the public good.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or would like to get involved please feel free to e-mail me or stop by during my office hours.
Goals:
- Improve upon the election process for SG positions.
- Increase external advertisement of open positions.
- Utilize campus resources for advertisement.
- Work with the Director of PR to have more face-to-face interactions with students.
- Work with CaTS to reach out to ALL students.
- Address Constitutional issues.
- Address the election protocols/procedures to address situations that arose during the most recent presidential election.
- Provide interpretation of the Constitution as needed.
- Promote the professionalism of SG.
- Ensure that SG adheres to the Constitution.
