presentations to BSU, RCA, and the Guardian. I also sat in on the interview for associate
Diversity Affairs.
Vice President, Josh Anderson‐ Campus Voice shirts are finally ordered! They will
hopefully come in during finals week. I gave a GetrowdyWSU.com presentation to
Student Legal Services and they have expressed interest in our project. They also want
to do any event that involves a D.W. I. Stimulator to remind students to stay safe during
spring break. Also, Sean and I are worked on surveys to see what students think about
having printers in the Nutter Center. Dr. Pringle is going to send them out to students
who have classes in the Nutter Center.
Chief of Staff, Kelli Paul‐ I had a lot of fun emceeing Multicultural Halloween Night with
Dan!! I also attended UAB’s Decade Dance. I have going over your reports or lake
thereof. If you do not send in reports in the future I will add an extra office hour. My
main focus is bi‐weekly reports and it’s your choice to do progress or not. The SG
review is starting tomorrow and finally I wrote a new SOP for programming!
Chief Justice, Paul Reed‐ I sat in on interviews and helped give presentations for
GetrowdyWSU.com. My constitution committee meeting is tomorrow at 11 to makes
changes/corrections to SG’s constitution. If you have any concerns or changes please
email them to me or feel free to join us at 11AM.
Director of Internal Affairs, Ashley Gerten‐ I’ve done the normal agendas and minutes
but this week has been mainly filled up with meetings. I attended the parking appeals
meeting with Brandy, the Student Legal Services meeting with Josh and Brandy, RCA
General Assemble meeting in place of Brandy, and the Newman Catholic Student
Association meeting. Finally I got the HOR phone replaced for Marissa and Joel because
the old phone was not ringing.
5.) Committee Reports:
Organizational Housing: Brandy/Sean‐ In the master plan, Forest lane is being replaced by
small group housing. A total of 250 new bed spaces will be made in small, house like
buildings. ORS would like to build as will fill the spaces, but contractors will most likely not
have that. Greeks will be looked at first with this because of housing funds they already have
(for instance Sigma Phi Epsilon has over $80,000 for housing). National orgs may have funds
to do so too. Looking to have language houses (you must speak French as soon as you enter
the house). There is also an opportunity to have gender neutral housing. Also, Academic
cohort housing groups (Nursing, Med school, Engineering…) There is a possibility to rent out
spots during the summer like some fraternities do on some campuses. Capstone is the
company that has the basic design. We also briefly discussed the new multipurpose center
and how that could affect these houses.
Student Media Board Meeting: Sean‐ Guardian‐ Kept to 12 Pages for cost issues. There is
Lack of leadership for next year, so looking to hire new staff early to train. They are Hiring a
Nexus editor. Working on Winter Advertising spaces. The Online is getting good amount of
hits. Looking for more ways to optimize online features. Also More pieces of good hard
hitting articles will be coming this winter. WWSU‐ Hiring A new Sports director. New Online
Web Streaming service. Organization Collaboration Service and Looking to get a new faculty
to oversee engineering issues.
6.) Semester Transition Report:
Jon‐ At the last Steering meeting we talked about the Ohio conference ideas and we are also
going to deiced on the ideas we want to us to remind student about the semester transition.
Finally, we are working out how students with 1 class can appeal it to their advisor.
7.) GetRowdyWSU.com Report:
Paul‐ I am working on flowcharts, talking with marketing and communications/ their
concerns with moderation, I am also working on contract information and there have been a
lot of presentation with orgs.
8.) Cabinet Reports:
Speaker of the House, Marissa Morton‐ Sorry I couldn't be at the meeting tonight, but my
grandma is in the hospital for another round of tests and biopsies, so I needed to go home
to take care of my sister while my parents are with her. Last week I helped out for awhile at
the Multicultural Halloween and met with a student who really had no clue what House of
Reps was. Apparently the e‐board for her org told her to just show up for them so they
could be in good standing, but never told her anything else. And on top of that, they gave
her the wrong time, so that was a little disappointing. At least I got her straightened out
and I think she's now going to be their official rep. The basketball competition between orgs
will be unveiled next Wednesday at the last house of reps meeting (which is Nov 10 at 5pm
in E163). It's really turning out to be something fun, and even Residence Services is
apparently going to help out. Now I just have to figure out how to weight the percentages
of attendees so that it's fair across the board. That's something I'll be working on from
home this week. I met with the Get Rowdy team yesterday...finally a meeting time I could
attend! Anyway, it was nice to get caught back up and I'll be working on that from home as
well. Simpson College is still having a committee look at the benefits of their bio‐diesel
generator for me, and Akron never got back to me about the tax service, so I'll try and
contact them while I'm up that way. Make sure your adopted orgs are coming to the last
meeting this quarter for House of Reps! Bob Grant will be there, so it's at least going to be
exciting! :)
Assistant Speaker of the House, Joel Parker‐ As far as GetRowdy we have made significant
progress over the last week. I met with Dr. A about GetRowdy and he is having the contract
reviewed by Purchasing. I have a meeting with Dr. Sweeney tomorrow to present it to the
Office of the President. The committee met yesterday and reviewed our current progress
and each member is working on a particular task and we are meeting on Thursday to review
our tasks as well as we will have Jason from Squarecrop joining us via video chat to further
discuss the project. As for House of Representatives I met with Corey Griest yesterday to
move further ahead with a lot of the details for the Student Organization basketball
competition and we both have some things to finalize and then will be meeting again next
week to put the finishing touches on it. Next week Bob Grant, Athletic Director will be
announcing the competition at the House of Reps meeting. End of Report
Director of Academic Affairs, Jonathan Maze‐ I have been busy this week but I was able to
meet with Kelli’s UVC class to talk about SG and semester transition. There has also been a
concern with a class that nursing students are having trouble getting into. So we are going
to try and make more sections so more students can take that class before the transition
happens. I am having another brainstorming meeting to finalize what ideas we will be using.
Finally, I am planning a meet and greet with advisors/ faculty within Lynsey’s college to have
a forum about the semester transition.
Director of Disability Affairs, Nathan Turner‐ Today I had a meeting with potential donors
to the Stem program. I am also working on getting more students with disabilities into
college/give them a better transition into college. I meet with my advisor on starting an
organization for people with disabilities. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to
make this organization successful let me know.
Director of Diversity Affairs, Rod Harris‐ I helped out at Halloween Hoops and it went really
well. After Halloween Hoops I helped Rayne tear down Multicultural Halloween. I was still
working on getting safe space training. Rick Daniels has not gotten back to me but I have
another meeting with him about something else and I will just bring it up then. I also
conducted interviews for my associate position.
Director of International Affairs, Rayne Bozeman‐This past week I sat in on the assistant
diversity affairs interviews. Thank you to everyone who helped with Multicultural
Halloween and UCIE’s program went very well also.
Director of Public Relations, Tiffany Schweickart‐ Hello SG, Sorry for not being able to
attend the meeting tonight but here are a few updates. The SG bulletin board is now being
updated and will be finished by the end of next week. I am gathering more articles for the
next newsletter. I am working on projects to delegate to my associate. I am reviewing the
constitution and bylaws and will be sending my recommendations. Have a great week!
Director of Student Affairs, Nick Warrington‐ I meet with Steve from vending services about
changing the covers of our vending machines to make them more WSU friendly. I then
contacted Pepsi to change them but it will take about 6 months to do. I will talk to Josh Cope
about artwork and what ideas we all have. Finally, the Raider friendly letters are ready to go
out.
Director of Web Communications, Josh Cope‐ Thursday I handed out OMG shirts at
Halloween Hoops and since we had some leftover I handed them out at Multicultural
Halloween. I was at the GetRowdy meeting and I helped Marissa get the HOR website going
live on Wednesday.

Halloween Hoops with WSSNA and a fundraiser for Theta Phi Alpha. I have added 1 new
