Joe F. Bozeman III was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 9, 1984. Some of his grade school and all of his preschool education came from the Dayton Public School system. After the age of 8, Joe traveled in and out of the Mid West and East Coast of the United States; transitioning school-to-school with each move. Some of the states he lived in were Indiana, Florida and Minnesota.
Joe eventually settled down in Huber Heights and Fairborn, Ohio to complete his middle school and high school years. He chose to attend Wright State University because of its inclusion of a Division I basketball program and respectable engineering program. His goal was to play NCAA basketball and pursue an engineering degree. After completing his first year of basketball he decided to focus solely on his studies. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in the summer of 2008.
During his final undergraduate year and the start of his graduate schooling, he became active with student organizations. He had the honor of being the Member Outreach Chair of a college political organization, chairing a subsequent Health Care Committee, chairing the Dean’s Student Advisory Board of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and mentoring underclassmen through the Visions Mentoring Program. His appointment to the position Chief of Staff of Wright State University’s Student Government for the academic school year 2009-2010 was accepted with great appreciation and admiration for the job.
Joe has had a relatively descent amount of experience in supervisorial and managerial situations because of his corporate and student organization work history involving diverse groups ranging in age, ethnicity, and culture. He has always had a passion and a knack for political resolve so it was ideal for him to be involved with Student Government. He would like to see Student Government’s overall respect and university-wide presence to increase. This would entail gaining respect from not only the student body, but also the university’s faculty and staff. The Parker-Thomas platform is a comprehensive one, which Joe plans to implement effectively.
