CoLA Weekly Report
So, as for the issue concerning the Spanish Department, Charles Long, Forest Wortham, Dr. Pugh and myself were able to secure some new TA and SI positions for the Spanish Department. There will be at least two offered this coming Winter Term. My DSAB and I intend to establish a precedent to be able to have a more proactive recruitment system be employed by the Department of Modern Languages as a whole to be able to offer these important services to all language students of first and second year. We all believe that this will be an integral part of the success of WSU's Spanish program.
Our event for November 2nd has been approved and is on its way to being a success, especially in conjunction with the French Club and their French Immersion Day.
I have attended a slew of university events over this past quarter and I just want to say that it has been incredible to see the incredible level of achievement that our student orgs have been able to attain.
The Invisible Children event has monopolized so much of my time and I have enjoyed the journey immensely. So many of us worked so hard and it was overwhelming to see so many people come out and support and to receive the thanks from the representatives of this great cause. I still have correspondence with members of the team and am incredibly proud to have been a part of such an event. Thank you so much to everyone who helped plan and execute the event and thanks to everyone who attended to make it so successful.
My fine arts initiative is still at a standstill considering I have yet to be able to get hold of Vicki or Stuart in the Theatre Department. However, Glen Cebulash from the Art Department and Dr. Randall Paul from the Music Department have been receptive to my recent efforts to promote the fine arts on campus.
