This quarter we’re going to try to do a lot with athletics, and get students out to the games. Our big goal should be to try to continue to do what we did Fall Quarter. Also, I have an exciting announcement. For the next fiscal 2011-2012 year, any money that we raise for charitable organizations up to $10,000 will be matched by the President’s office. Therefore, please start thinking about what service event we want to do this quarter.

Cabinet Reports:
- Speaker of the House – Ryan Phipps
- The first House of Reps meeting is tomorrow from 6:00-7:00. It should be a quick meeting. We will be giving away some fall quarter awards! Today Brandy and I met and went over our goals for the year. We also reevaluated where we’re at after fall quarter. House of Reps is going to be doing a spirit competition. Finally, Luke Keiser has resigned due to some health issues; therefore, we will re-open the interview process tomorrow for Secretary of the House.
- Assistant Speaker of the House – Brandy Zapata
- Dr. Hopkins will be at the House of Reps meeting on 1/18/12. We will also have a speaker from athletics coming to speak to us the day before Bus to Butler. I am also trying to get someone from the book store to visit a meeting. We’re going to have an upcoming “House Party” which will replace the past organization fair. The event will have food, drinks, games, contests, etc. Organizations will have the opportunity to have a table and talk to students in order to hopefully recruit people for winter quarter. The event will be: 1/26/12 from 2:00-4:00pm
- Director of Academic Affairs – Nick Port
- Director of Campus Culture – Christian Richardson
- First off, I’m sorry to anyone that has unsuccessfully attempted to get ahold of me. I don’t have a computer or car at the moment. My biggest project right now is the Elect Her conference. I am trying to get some sororities committed to this. Also, I have set up a meeting with Brandy to work on campus voice.
- Director of Disability Affairs – Dominick Evans
- I am working on planning the Abilities Expo. We will be having several different modules that demonstrate different kinds of disabilities. I am looking for ideas, so if you have seen one of these before please contact me. I also went to the recent Abilities United officer meeting. We have teamed up to work on a lot of the same issues together from now on.
- Director of International Affairs – Mark Tshimanyika
- I have been working on the buddy system program, and have a meeting next week to plan that.
- Director of Public Relations – Adam Verdecchia
- Director of Student Affairs – Galen Crawford
- Bus to Butler planning is going well. We have individuals who have volunteered to look for added income in order to get more busses this year. Food will be taken care of by Quaker Steak. Those of us involved with the project are meeting tonight shortly after meeting to get on same page. The Student Org Complex revamp will cost nearly $15,000- Spencer will be looking for support for that. Katrina has been helping me a lot, and I really appreciate all of this.
- Director of Web Communications – Matt Burks

- College of Liberal Arts Senator – Luke Wortley
- We are going to begin working on the creation of a Public Relations Committee. Let me know if you’re still interested. We want to involve people outside of SG, as well as work towards hiring an associate. For my own position, my main initiative for the quarter is to sponsor an art exhibit that promotes awareness of social justice. Also, from last quarter there are now two extra Spanish S.I. sessions available- big success. Finally, The Department of Modern Languages is offering a $1500 grant for international travel. See me for information.

- I am working on getting the Nursing Council elections together. I met with my Dean and the council will now be called a DSAB. The event would consist of different screenings, quick healthy meals, yoga, etc.
- College of Science and Math Senator – Kent Weaver
