Commuter Report: January 6, 2012
GO RAIDERS!
Hello all,
I hope everyone had a fantastic break. Now it is back to the grindstone but I am super excited for all that Winter Quarter will hold.
First of all, I was informed that the microwave in the Commuter Lounge no longer works, so I have been investigating how to get it replaced. Stay tuned, and fear not- our TV dinners shall not be cold for long.
Within the next week I will be ordering shirts for the Bus to Butler event that has become an SG tradition here on campus.
I will also be starting plans for the Winter Quarter Finals Survival this week which includes setting up the menu with Sodexho.
SG got the opportunity to meet the basketball team at the Bridge Cafe on Wednesday which was an awesome event (great job, Nick!). It was a great way to get to know the really great group of guys that make up our men's basketball team. Good luck to them tonight against Butler!!!!
As Commuter Senator, one of my biggest pet projects was to create a new event that will appeal to commuters. I began my planning for "Calling All Commuters" this week by having a productive meeting with the Student Automotive Association president, JB Saul, on Friday. This event will hopefully be a campus-wide commuter fair that will take place sometime in late spring.
Finally, I've been looking into plausible parking solutions at Wright State University. I read a parking study performed by a previous Student Government and also read some articles about campus parking at other universities. I've found out some really interesting information that can hopefully be put to use as a few recommendations to the university.
Thank you all and have a splendid day!
Abby Benston
